What is the age requirement to join?
The Nelson Youth Choir accepts applications from any young person in the Nelson/Tasman region ages 12 – 24.
When does the choir rehearse?
Choir rehearsals are held on Tuesday afternoons during term time, with weekend workshops leading up to perfomances.
Does the choir perform?
We love spreading music across the Nelson/Tasman region, the choir frequently performs at events during Terms 2, 3 and 4. Check out upcoming events here!
I can’t read sheet music, can I join?
Absolutely! Our singing is taught and sung with sheet music but if you can sing a melody, pitch notes and tap a rythym we’ll teach you the rest! Our qualified team of music professionals will help you every step of the way.
